Hi,
I also went through similar scenario with my WIFE EAD. We didn't receive the receipt notice for her. When we called Texas Service center, CS told us he can't regenerate it again. We got the approval email on Saturday night.

I got RFE on my case my case is NSC-CSC-NSC Transfer. Got Soft LUD in last 2 days and got RFE mail yesterday night. Waiting to hear back from lawyer about type of RFE. But atleast seems like they had started working on my case and if no RFE it would have been approved.

Evidently Congress believes that at least some immigrants are worth pursuing, as evidenced by the free-for-all DV Lottery, where 50,000 Green Cards are randomly given out yeary to people from all over the world (except India, China, Mexico and the Philippines). These free-for-all visas bring 50,000 new people to the U.S. who can come here even if they don't have a job waiting for them, thus they end up taking American jobs (in convenience stores, selling Avon products door-to-door, as car mechanics, whatever)...and then there is us! The highly-skilled people, in the U.S. on LEGAL visas. We are doctors, engineers, business leaders, in positions where no American was found for our jobs (as evidenced by the grueling "Labor Certification" process) we pay taxes, contribute to the U.S. through patents, start-ups, community work, and yet we are abused, drowned in red tape and told to wait for up to a decade for a Green Card.
Congress needs to decide if we highly-skilled contributors, who are very few compared to the overall pool of immigrants are "worth pursuing" (read the article in the link at the top), or at least whether we are AS worth pursuing as DV lotto winners such as car mechanics from Belarus, or Avon ladies from Bolivia (with the difference that they were given a free ride and allowed to take jobs away from Americans, and us PhDs and Doctors are forced to be certified that we haven't and won't take any job from an American, pay 1000s of dollars and wait for up to a decade)

I think he was talking about s1932... the immigration related provisions were removed from that in the conference. You need inform them that they should at least get behind the Frist bill or Spector bill and request them to support removing the hard limits on the country quotas.
Some talking points may be:
Ask them if they support quotas for college admissions, and then ask if they support country quotas for immigration...
Explain how quotas that are not tied to population are punishing countries like India and China with larger population.
Also explain how government is dictating to the companies where they can get the talent from and how that harms businesses as it punishes countries with good education system and large talent pools.
Some talking points may be:

Just on the lighter note I wonder if even USCIS ignores that mistake and give you and your co-worker's wife a GC.
And if your co-worker's wife is from a county which is not retrogressed then you can get GC early based on alternate chargebility. Mistake can become boon many times. Just kidding.
Probably you will get RFE and not rejection.

This is FAQ from USCIS website:

Where did you read extra cash is being pumped into other gov projects.
I read on USCIS website they were hiring 1500 new employees.
to be fair to USCIS they did try to get out of the fiasco on july 1 by moving the dates back again Eventually they were forced to accept it again..
They clearly knew this was cash cow so why did they want to cancel it in the first place..
Its a lot of money and its definitely a lot of work as well..There are also no signs of hiring new stafff..most of extra cash they getting is being pumped into other gov projects so the staff is still being overworked and I am sure will be complaning

What is interesting is that both Zest2003 and Zenfloater on are EB-3 India with priority dates in Summer 2003. So neither of them has a current PD.
I had three separate conversations in the last few weeks -- with a TSC IO, with staff in Michael Aytes office and with staff in the Ombudsmans Office, all of whom confirmed that cases are not assigned to adjudicators if their priority dates are not current i.e. no preadjudication of retrogressed cases.
I made strong arguments to both staffers about how unjust this is since if dates move, retrogressed cases won't be good to go, and unused visas go to less retrogressed or unretrogressed categories.
Now these two posters on seem to suggest that retrogressed cases are being given to adjudicators....it would be great if other retrogressed applicants posted about what they are hearing.

I had my interview on the 30th and my passport has not been delivered yet. The VFS website says that the passport has not been handed over to them as of today. I was not given any 221g slip/form and the VO told me that i should be getting my PP in 5 days, it's been a week now and VFS hasn't got the PP yet. Is there something i should be worried about? I have my return ticket booked for next weekend and i am getting a bit nervous about the whole scenario. Does anyone know if there is any other way to get in touch with the New Delhi consulate?

We were exactly in the same situation few months ago. We were told that our visas have been issued and we will get our passports within 5-7 days (no 221g at the time of the interview). After 5 days when we contacted VFS they said wait upto 7 business days. I waited and then they gave me the number of the embassy. When we contacted embassy they said that an email has been sent to me asking more documents but we did not get any emails. We asked them to resend and after 3 days of our request we got their email with a soft copy of 221g(green).
We wish that similar thing may not happen with anyone as we know the tension of going thru it.
I would suggest that you call Embassy instead of calling VFS to get the real status. VFS will just tell if they got the passport or not. They can not tell you the reason.

The attorney's office is trying to get in touch with USCIS and find more info.
Meanwhile, planning to use InfoPass to meet with IO.
Why notice to deny was not sent to me is puzzling me. No RFE's.
I have lost 2 years as the status all the time is case received and pending (checked few minutes before too).
Make sure you save a copy of status showing pending today.

If you are independent contractor you can take some allowed expenses. If you are salaried employee you need to show loss for getting some benefit. Generally if you show loss for 3 years continously then IRS mostly deny on third year. In any case if you take too much expense you are inviting audit and that is going to be nightmare. I do not think it is a good idea to start a company just for expenses unless you are going to do business. Atleast you should be doing independent contracting(corp to Corp).
